Multicultural Medicine: An AHSL Exhibit

 

The Office of Outreach and Multicultural Affairs has prepared a wonderful new exhibit on Medicine, now on display in the exhibit cases in the Java City area of the Arizona Health Sciences Library.  Included in the display are:  Traditional Chinese medicine; Ayurvedic medicine of India; European medicine, including homeopathy; North American traditions, including naturopathic Medicine; Latin American healing practices; Native American medicine; and herbal medicine traditions from many  different cultures. The exhibit will run through June 13, 2008.

The OMA mission is to improve the health care of Arizonans through fostering and achieving cultural equity and sensitivity within the state's educational and health care systems. Programs and activities serve to increase the ethnic and cultural diversity of the healthcare workforce and to promote knowledge of the critical relationship between culture and health.  For further information about OMA programs and activities, see the Office of Outreach and Multicultural Affairs.
