AHSL Website Standards and Guidelines

   
 

Overview

The Arizona Health Sciences Library website provides access to health information; primarily to students, staff and faculty of the Arizona Health Sciences Center Tucson and Phoenix, the University Medical Center (UMC), and The University of Arizona (UA). The Library also provides information to health care practitioners in Arizona, and to Arizona residents.

In order to maintain this level of service it is important that the AHSL website abides to standards outlined within this document.  These standards include:

  • Ensuring the website is accessible to all users and ADA compliant
  • Portraying the Library in a professional manner
  • Using the AHSL identity in its proper context, and
  • Provide routine maintenance that ensures up to date content.


Website Standards

All websites that represent Arizona Health Sciences Library must comply with the minimum design standards outlined below:

  • Have the official AHSL Logo.
  • Provide contact information for both Tucson and Phoenix Libraries including:
    • Library name
    • Street address
    • Mailing address with zip code
    • Area code and phone number
    • Provide a link to an electronic form as a means to contact AHSL
  • Provide a link to the homepage.
  • Meet current web accessibility standards.
  • Be functional in all 4.x & 5.x and text-only browsers. Users must be able to navigate the website, view information, and print from the web site.
  • Provide up-to-date and well-maintained information.
  • Abide by the UA policies including Code of Conduct, Copyright, Advertising, and the Approved Use of University Computing and Communication Equipment policy.

One of the following images must appear on all AHSL-related websites/pages.

These images are a visual representation of AHSL and should be used consistently to help represent our identity. The following guidelines will help to ensure consist use.

  • The fonts may not be changed.
  • The size may be re-proportioned, but retain legibility.
  • The font of the AHSL Logo and Acronym are: Madison Avenue
  • The font of the Line Logo is: Opcivet-Light.
  • The font of the Tucson & Phoenix is: Friz Quadrata.

The official colors used in the AHSL logos are cardinal red and navy blue. Please follow the guide below for assistance.

Exceptions can be made to these colors ONLY for project specific reasons like inter-departmental use and other Library affiliated presentations or documentation. Any color changes must be approved by the AHSL Web Editorial Board.
