Welcome to our inaugural
year at the new Phoenix campus! The entire library
staff of the AHSL is pleased to continue to extend
our digital and print resources and services to students,
residents, fellows and faculty at both campuses.
In Phoenix you will notice a focus on the use of
electronic materials, except in the case of books
not yet available in digital format. What is exciting
about our digital collections is the fact that our
resources will be available to you wherever and whenever
you need them, at your fingertips. You will be able
to access the world’s knowledge bases via your
personal desktop or laptop computer, a PC at your
Mom’s house, or one at your local library.
Just be sure to always have your CatCard (or library
card) with you! Phoenix COM students should
always also carry your ASU Sun Card in order to access
ASU Libraries online.
Presently, your AHSL-Phoenix has a staff of three,
but all Tucson librarians and other staffers are
available to help you as they always have been. We
look forward to working with you, and to finding
ways to make the right information available to you
in the format that is most useful to you. Please
tell us via email or phone when you identify something
(print or electronic) we can acquire, negotiate for,
or make more accessible. We all want to know how
to help you as you study, learn and teach. My office
and the library are on the second floor of historic
Building 1 at 550 East Van Buren, on the east side
of the building near the computer classroom on the
second floor. Please plan to visit the library, both
physically and virtually.
