Reduction in AHSL Resources for FY2010

To offset a 5.8 % budget cut as well as the annual increase in the cost of information resources (books, journals, bibliographic databases, etc.), the Arizona Health Sciences Library must reduce the purchase of these resources. In Spring 2008 AHSL began working with the UA Libraries to plan for a reduction in spending based on our best estimates of projected inflation. The campus community was notified of this need in Fall 2008 at which time we solicited your input. Many concerns were submitted, which were carefully considered when the final decisions on reductions were made in September 2009. Every effort has been made to minimize the impact of the cuts and maintain support for University and AHSC priorities.

The titles in the AHSL list have been consolidated with those of the UA Libraries and can be viewed online. To review the cancelled journal titles, you may use the links below to see only the AHSL titles or view the entire UAL list. Most of the AHSL titles will fall in the ‘R’ section when the entire UAL list is sorted by call number (click on the column heading to sort). When the list is sorted by subject, the AHSL titles will fall primarily in the categories of Medicine and Life Sciences.
