AHSL Snack and Beverage Policy

AHSL strives to maintain an environment that is conducive to study and research and provides protection for library materials and equipment. AHSL permits snacks and beverages, within reason, in most locations in the Library, but we need your cooperation in order to avoid a proliferation of dirty study areas and to minimize the risk of damage to Library property.

It is advisable to eat meals at the tables in the Java City concession area, in the UMC Cafeteria or other appropriate areas outside the library.

We encourage you to be very careful with snacks and beverages and to clean up spills and dispose of all trash as soon as possible. Paper towels are available in all restrooms. Be considerate of your fellow users--no one should be expected to clean up after you.

Observing the following guidelines will keep AHSL a pleasant and inviting study environment:

In the following Library areas, food and snacks are not permitted. Beverages must be in spill-proof containers:

This policy is subject to revision, and can be revoked at anytime. The policy can only be maintained with everyone's cooperation.

Adopted October 2, 2002; revised February 18, 2005.
